Phone charging at bus and train stations

A traveler may need a phone for a ticket, an updated departure time or a ride at the other end. A portable charger at a bus or train station can help passengers keep moving while they wait, provided the location fits the station’s access and approval rules.

Plan for the passenger journey

Trace the route from the entrance to ticketing, the waiting area and the platform or bus bay. A traveler with luggage needs room to stop without obstructing the flow. Include the return journey too: some passengers will arrive at the station rather than depart from it. The travelers guide covers charging choices for a wider trip.

Use the same public location names that appear on terminal signs. That gives a passenger a practical reference point without requiring staff to describe a route through a busy building during a departure rush.

Choose a visible public area

A ticket hall or waiting area can be considered if power and space are available. Keep the station clear of ticket queues, information displays, doorways and accessible routes. Do not place it where a person would have to cross a controlled boundary to return a rental. The venue charging guide outlines practical questions for selecting a location.

Passenger flow can change when a bus arrives or a platform empties. Look at those movements as well as quiet periods. A traveler reading instructions at a station should have room to stand with luggage while other passengers pass and reach the information they need.

Coordinate with the station operator

The station operator controls equipment placement and access. Ask the responsible property, facilities and passenger-service teams about their approval process. Share the proposed spot, power access and route for delivery or maintenance. Check operating hours, security arrangements and any restrictions on equipment.

Give travelers a portable option

A Juiceboxx rental releases a power bank with built-in cables. The passenger keeps the phone and bank together while checking the departure board or moving toward the gate. Rentals are $2 per 30 minutes, capped at $12 per 24-hour day, with a $20 card hold released on return. The rental guide explains how to use the app.

Make onward returns realistic

A passenger may leave on a trip before returning the bank. Juiceboxx allows returns to any station within 48 hours, but travelers should use the station finder to check whether an accessible location is actually on their route. Check opening hours as well. The return guide has the steps.

Tell passenger-service staff where the equipment is and which public entrance reaches it. If the terminal locks certain doors overnight, reflect that in the information available to travelers. A location near an entrance is only useful when that entrance is open to the person trying to return a bank.

Discuss the location

Send Juiceboxx the terminal name, city, layout, public hours and facilities contact, along with the proposed location and power access. Hosting costs $0 and venue commission is by agreement. Confirm operator approval and the service arrangement before including charging on passenger signs. The hosting cost guide describes the venue model.
